how to play

Welcome to PixLabs SMP, a survival economy server. This guide covers everything you need to get started, from your first login to running your own money farms.

the aim of the game

PixLabs SMP is survival Minecraft with a player-driven economy. The goal is simple: build your wealth and climb the leaderboards.

  • Gather resources, build farms and set up spawners
  • Sell what you produce for money ($)
  • Trade with other players through the Auction House and Orders
  • Earn Shards by playing, then spend them on spawners, drills, ranks and crate keys
  • Team up with friends, fight for KoTH, and compete for the top spots on /baltop

There's no single "end". Whether you want to be the richest player, the strongest PvPer or the best builder, it's up to you.

getting started

    Link your Discord account

    To join the server, your Minecraft account must be linked to our Discord. The first time you join, you'll be shown a link code. Join the Discord and use /link with the PixLabsSMP bot. Once you're linked, you can join any time.

    Grab your starter kit

    Type /kit (or /kits) to see which kits you can claim. Grab the Starter kit to help on day one.

    Head into the wild

    Spawn is a safe hub. To start your survival journey, use RTP (see below) to get teleported to a random spot in the wilderness.

    Set your home

    Once you've found a good spot, type /sethome so you can always get back.

rtp (random teleport)

RTP sends you to a random location in the world, far enough from spawn that you'll find untouched land to build on.

/rtp
Opens the RTP menu. Pick the Overworld or the Nether
/rtpqueue
Joins the RTP Queue, which teleports you to the same random spot as another player for a 1v1 PvP fight

💡 Tip: if you don't like where you landed, you can just /rtp again.

homes

Homes let you save locations and teleport back to them.

/sethome <name>

  • Everyone starts with 1 home. Monthly ranks unlock more (up to 21).
  • Teleporting has a 5 second warmup. Moving, taking damage or attacking cancels it.

protecting your base: claiming land 🏡

Claim your base so nobody can grief it. Inside your land, other players can't break or place blocks, open chests, use doors, or hurt your animals unless you trust them.

Creates your land and claims the chunk you're standing in

Opens the land menu: claim more chunks, manage members, change settings
/trust <player>
Lets a friend build in your land

Unclaims the chunk you're standing in (you get 50% back)
/view
Shows who owns the land you're standing in
  • Land is claimed in chunks (16×16 areas, from the bottom of the world to the top).
  • Your first 4 chunks are free. After that, each chunk costs $250.
  • The more you play, the more you can claim: every 2 hours of playtime gives you +1 chunk, and it's free.
  • Everyone can claim up to 16 chunks to start. Monthly Ranks start with more (Bronze 24, Silver 32, Gold 40) and more free chunks.
  • You can claim in the Overworld and the Nether.

💡 Tip: claim your base as soon as you've placed your first chest!

making money

Money ($) is the main currency. Check your balance with /bal and see the richest players with /baltop.

Browse the server shop to buy and sell items

Opens a sell window. Drop your items in and sell them all at once

Shows the best-paying farms and spawners

best ways to earn

  • Farms: crops like cactus, sugar cane, carrots, bamboo and potatoes sell well. Automate them and sell in bulk.
  • Spawners: place mob spawners at your base for a steady stream of drops to sell. Shulker, Iron Golem, Blaze and Creeper spawners are among the most valuable. Spawners can be bought in the Shard Shop.
  • Mining: ores and materials can be sold or traded to other players.
  • Trading: buy low and sell high on the Auction House.

Opens the Auction House. Buy items or list your own for sale (listings last 24 hours)
/order
Opens Orders. Post a request for items you want, or fill other players' orders for cash
/pay <player> <amount>
Sends money to another player

investing and gambling

/invest <amount>
Invest your money to earn interest over time
/coinflip or /cf
Bet money against another player on a coin flip. 50/50, winner takes all

⚠️ Only gamble what you can afford to lose!

shards

Shards are a second currency that you earn by playing. They can't be bought with real money.

how to earn shards

  • Playing actively: you get 10 Shards for every 15 minutes of active play
  • AFK Zone: stand in the AFK zone at spawn (/warp afk) to earn 5 Shards every 5 minutes while you're away
  • Daily rewards: claim /daily every day

crates

Crates hold gear, tools and rare loot. Open them with crate keys, which you can earn by:

  • Buying them in the Shard Shop
  • Winning KoTH events
  • KeyAll events, where everyone online gets a free key
  • Giveaways and events

Visit the crates at spawn with /warp crates.

pvp and events

koth (king of the hill)

Capture and hold the hill to win big rewards, including crate keys. KoTH runs three times a day at 10:00, 13:00 and 16:00 UTC. Use /warp koth to get there.

bounties

Put a price on another player's head with /bounty. Kill a player with a bounty and the reward is yours.

combat tagging

When you hit or get hit by a player, you're combat tagged for 15 seconds. Logging out while tagged will get you killed. Finish the fight or wait it out.

pvp warps

Looking for a fight? Try /warp pvp, /warp arena, /warp pit or /warp moshpit.

teams

Play with friends by creating or joining a team.

ranks and supporting the server

All gameplay items (crate keys, gear, spawners) are earned in-game only. The store sells cosmetics and monthly ranks that help keep the server running:

  • Supporter rank, chat colours and chat tags: cosmetics to stand out in chat
  • Monthly ranks: Bronze (£3), Silver (£5) and Gold (£10) per month, with extra homes, vaults and auction slots
